OPAL Play

OPAL stands for 'Outdoor Play and Learning' and is a programme endorsed and supported by Sport England. OPAL's mission is 'to ensure that every school child has an amazing playtime, every day, with no exceptions'.

Through OPAL, we aim to:

  • Improve children's wellbeing
  • Develop self-regulation
  • Increase physical activity
  • Aid social and emotional development
  • Learn to manage risk
  • Have FUN!

This programme is a journey that the school is undertaking over the next 12-18 months, alongside the OPAL team, developing our playgrounds and the physical play of the children. This video will give you an idea of what we eventually want play to look like in our school.
