Safeguarding

Manorcroft Primary School is committed to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all members of the school community, including staff, parents & carers, volunteers and governors to demonstrably share this commitment. We encourage our pupils to approach any member of our staff if they are worried or have concerns.

This means that we have a 'Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy' and rigorous procedures in place.  All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are aware of these procedures.

We have a statutory duty to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare; this may mean seeking advice and/or making referrals about suspected harm or abuse concerning one of our pupils. We will ensure that all concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents & carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please record your concern and any observations or conversations heard, and either report to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) or refer it directly into the C-SPA (Children's Single Point of Access) as soon as possible. Do NOT conduct your own investigation.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are:
Mrs L. Kinnett - Lead DSL
Mrs T. Betteridge - Deputy DSL
Mrs S. Hester - Deputy DSL
Mrs H. Weal - Deputy DSL
Ms A. Wheeler - Deputy DSL
